Procedure to receive a medical consultation

For non Japanese-speaking patients

If you don’t speak Japanese, it will be better to come with an interpreter. Some of our staff speak English, but they are not always available, especially on weekends, national holidays and after hours.

About vaccinations for going overseas

・You cannot inoculate all types of vaccine for going overseas at our hospital.
・If you would like to take vaccination, you need to book it at least one week before
   you would like to take it because we need to order the relevant vaccines.
・If you require multi doze vaccination, we can only administer the vaccine from the
   first injection. We may not be able to administer from the second or third injection
   due to safety reasons. 

STEP 1 Registration

 *If you have a Japanese health insurance card, please bring it with you.
 *About prescribing birth-control pills for women
       We prescribe birth-control pills during consultation hours only because
       they have to be prescribed by specialists. Please check the consultation hours of
       gynecology department before you visit us.

1.New patients and returning patients without an appointment

(1)Please go to counter #1/#2.
(2) If ~
        A. you are a new patient, please fill out the registration form (English version
             available) and submit it. If you have a Japanese health insurance card, please
             submit it, too.
        B.you are a returning patient without an appointment and ~
             a.you have a patient ID card for our hospital, please submit it.
             b.you were not issued an ID card during your previous visit, please tell the
                receptionist that you would like to see a doctor, or you would like the same
                medicines you were prescribed by the last visit.

・・・Please be seated around counter #1/#2 until your name is called.->Go to STEP2.

2.Returning patients with an appointment

(1)Please go to the reception of the department where you have an appointment.
(2)If ~
       A.you have an appointment slip, please submit it.
       B.you don’t have an appointment slip, please tell a nurse that you have arrived.

・・・Please be seated at the appropriate waiting area until your name is called.
     ->Go to STEP3.

STEP 2 Going to the relevant medical department

1.Please go to the counter where your name was called from(#1/#2).
2.The receptionist will give you a registration slip. Please take it to the relevant medical
    department and submit it at the reception there.
3.If you are a new patient of the medical department, please fill out and submit the
   questionnaire the nurse will give you.

・・・please be seated at the relevant waiting area until your name is called.

STEP 3 Medical consultation (at the consultation room)

1.When your turn comes, a nurse will guide you to the consultation room. Sometimes
    you have to take some examinations before you see a doctor when a doctor needs
    it to give you a diagnosis.
2. If you would like a medical certificate and/or the copies of the photos such as Xray,
    CT or MRI, please notify the doctor about it when you see a doctor.
   
    *If you see a doctor on a non-consultation day or after hours, the doctor may not
      write a medical certificate for you because it is our policy that medical certificates
      should be written by the specialist for your condition. In such cases, we may ask
      you to come back to see the specialist and receive a medical certificate written
      by them.

3.After the consultation, please be seated at the relevant waiting area again until a 
   nurse hands you a file.
4. If ~
       (1) you have/want to make an appointment for the next consultation, please 
             go to counter #3 /#4.-> Go to STEP4.
        (2) you don’t need to make an appointment for the next consultation, please
              go to counter #5 /#6. -> Go to STEP5.
 
        *Your doctor or a nurse will tell you if you have to make an appointment 
          for the next consultation when you leave the consultation room.
 

STEP 4 Making an appointment for the next consultaion

*You cannot make an appointment as a new patient. You must first visit the hospital
  during consultation hours.

1.Please put your file on the tray between counter #3 and #4 and be seated around
    there until your name is called.
2.Please go to the counter where your name was called from(#3/#4). The counter’s
   staff will ask you which day and/or time is convenient for you. The staff will give you
   the appointment slip for your next consultation.

    *Please bring the appointment slip with you next time.

3.The counter’s staff will give you your file back. Please take it to counter #5/#6
    for the payment.


STEP 5 Payment Reception

Please submit your file at counter #5/#6 and get the payment queue slip.


STEP 6 Payment

1.There is a screen above counter #6 and a number is displayed on it.
    When the number is the same or larger than yours, you can pay at counter #7.
    You can pay by cash or credit card. (Checks, debit cards etc. are not acceptable.)

    *For most items including your treatment and medicine, we accept credit card
      payment. However, some items including crutches, splints, braces and vaccination
      must be paid for in cash.

2.If you were prescribed medicine, the counter’s staff will give you the prescription
   queue slip.

For the patients with TRAVEL HEALTH INSURANCE
  Basically, we require you to pay your bill at the hospital. Please submit the receipt
  to your travel health insurance company when you apply for reimbursement. 
  However, please do not hesitate to consult with us if the medical expenses become 
  too high and making the payments become difficult. In such cases, we may be able
  to cooperate with your travel health insurance company. 

STEP 7 Medication

When your prescription queue number is displayed on the electric bulletin board
on the wall between counter #8 and #9, please hand the chemist your slip and
get your medicines at counter #9.

STEP 8 Leaving

Once you have completed payment(and collected your prescription) you may leave
the hospital and please take care.
